Position Summary

Develop and lead a high-performance accounting team at a publicly held company focusing on accounting operations in the US and at international locations. Build scalable processes to enable efficient growth. Collaborate across the business to improve systems and internal controls. You need to be a hands-on professional who will ensure proper accounting of business results in accordance with US GAAP and SOX requirements, and continuously improve the quality of data on which decisions are made. We are seeking a self-starter with high personal and professional values, strong work ethic and positive attitude.  This position reports to the VP Corporate Controller and is located in Vancouver, WA.


  • Manage month-end/quarter-end close process for the US general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis, as well as worldwide consolidations, and intercompany accounting.
  • Manage coordination of federal, state, income, international and other tax compliance activities internally with third party accounting firms.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, general ledger and fixed assets, and work with accounting managers in each area identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Overall responsibility for US payroll and benefits accounting and administration. Partner with HR to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support external audit firm to perform quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
  • Ensure proper accounting in accordance US GAAP and processes that support strong internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Document existing and develop new policies and procedures. Help develop and communicate accounting policies cross-functionally and across legal entities.
  • Assist in the documentation of process flowcharts and key controls
  • Hire, train and develop accounting team members. Coordinate workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Research accounting topics, help implement new accounting standard, and write memos as needed
  • Assist with special projects relating to other business initiatives as assigned.


  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience including a mix of public accounting and industry
  • Experience in manufacturing/high-tech industry, and at publicly held companies, is preferred
  • Proven track record of working in multi-entity and global organizations
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP/SOX 404 requirements
  • Strong knowledge of ERP Systems/Payroll processing systems; MS AX 2009/12 experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and working knowledge of MS Word and Visio
  • Strong understanding of inventory costing is a plus
  • Must enjoy new challenges, identifying improvements and driving change
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate complex information to management
