Model-Based Systems Engineer

Experience: Will consider Engineer/Scientist up to Sr. Engineer/Scientist level depending on relevant experience and expertise.

Job Description: Develop, define, and track formal requirements for High Energy Laser (HEL) Weapon System and/or HEL Beam Control System (BCS).  Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to document and manage Requirements and interfaces using Cameo and/or Innoslate based tools.  Support configuration management through the system design, development, integration, and test phases.  Track Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) and associated allocations.  Work closely with management and the Design, Integration, and Test teams to ensure successful customer deliveries.  Responsible for development of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) by combining inputs from multiple engineering disciplines.  Responsible for development and integration of artifacts for formal DoD acquisition design reviews (CoDR, SRR, PDR, IBR, etc.)

  5. Experience in System Engineering tools: Model-based Systems Engineer tools (mandatory).
  6. Develop and track modeling and allocations for Technical Performance Measurements.
  7. Develop and maintain documentation in support of formal DoD acquisition design reviews (i.e. CoDR, SRR, PDR, IBR, CDR, TRR, etc.)
  8. Technical Report Writing (i.e. good technical writing skills are beneficial)

Additional Desired Experience / Capability

  1. Experience in development and delivery of electro-optical systems, preferably High Energy Laser systems and/or High Energy Laser Beam Control Systems.
  2. Experience in specification and evaluation of requirements for laser and electro-optical systems, in particular for high power applications.
  3. Configuration Management for laser and electro-optical systems, in particular for high power applications.
  4. Experience in Adaptive Optical (AO) Systems.
  5. Experience in LabVIEW or C/C++/C#.
  6. System Test and Evaluation and validation of modeling tools against measurements.
